DSU Incorporated - Protege Day

As part of the Department of Energy’s Mentor-Protege program, Savannah River Nuclear Solutions is working together with eight firms DSU Inc. being one of those firms to share best practices and lessons learned and to discuss opportunities to do business together.

The designation of Small Disadvantaged Business is given to eligible businesses based on employee and income numbers, as well as those that are socially or economically disadvantaged, by having been subjected to racial, ethnic, or cultural bias or by difficulty competing with other businesses because of trouble obtaining capital or credit, according to the Small Business Administration.

SRNS’s Mentor-Protege Day, which was held on Nov. 10 at the Savannah River Site, gave end-users and buyers a chance to lay out expectations and the protege firms an opportunity to visit information booths to learn about customers’ needs.

DSU partners with RTI to help fulfill requires on Navy Medicine Omnibus III IDIQ

The U.S. Army has announced a $497 million Omnibus III indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity contract to support U.S. Navy medicine research and development programs. Contract work will support the Navy’s mission to conduct R&D across its medical enterprise. This includes commands that the Navy reports to or supports, such as OASD-Health Affairs and JTF CapMed. Awardees will provide personnel, materials, equipment and process infrastructure, which includes vaccine development, clinical trials and application processing. There were 32 bids solicited, with 32 bids received. Work is expected to be completed Aug. 11, 2016. The U. S. Army ACC-APG, Natick Contracting Division awarded the IDIQ to support Navy medicine.

DSU Continues to work with FEMA for rebuild efforts

DSU’s continuing partnership with FEMA has resulted in another contract win to provide staffing for FEMA clean up project in Garner NC.  “We are very proud to have this partnership with FEMA” says DSU representative.  FEMA has continued to work within NC to provide recovery and clean up efforts for the recent storms.

DSU Incorporated Gives Back and Sponsors the 2nd Annual North Carolina Veterans Business Association Networking Summit and Golf Tournament

DSU Incorporated helped to sponsor a 2 day event for the 2nd Annual North Carolina Veterans Business Association Networking Summit and Golf Tournament. This event started on June 12th with a large networking event at the Durham Bulls Stadium that included large and small businesses, SAS Alliance Partners, and veterans. Tickets and dinner were provided by SAS. The event continued on June 13th at Brier Creek Country Club that included breakfast and a very distinguished panel of speakers to include SAS, RDU Airport Authority, and US Falcon. The day ended with a friendly competition of 18 holes of golf that was won by a team of disabled veterans. DSU Incorporated is very proud to give back to their community and the men and women of the military who put their lives on the line each day for us.

DSU Staffing Sponsors Event

DSU was recently awarded a bid to place contractors on assignment at Fort Myer, VA.

Servicemen and their families are very important to DSU Incorporated.  DSU is excited to provide contractors supporting the area of Army Community Services at Fort Myer, VA.  The initial contract will allow us to place individuals that will assist with the operation of the Family Assistance Center, inclusive of Deployment and Mobilization and volunteer programs.

DSU wins FEMA bid to help clean up natural disaster in Garner North Carolina

The storm that ravaged North Carolina, taking homes and lives of citizens, has passed, and now workers, state employees, and DSU Incorporated have begun helping with the healing process.  DSU has provided 12 employees to FEMA to build the staging area in Garner North Carolina. This allows FEMA to meet one on one with the residents and business owners affected by the tornado and provide assistance.  DSU was excited to partner with FEMA on this opportunity to provide jobs for local residents and to assist with the relief efforts.
